about the project.

Faces of Our Frontline: Celebrating Canadian Black Frontline Workers is an art project intended to recognize the efforts of frontline workers during the pandemic, specifically focusing on Black frontline workers. Black Canadians have always been an integral part of our communities in Canada, and in light of the recent surge for equality for Black people in North America, now is the time to reflect on the many roles that Black individuals play, and how these contributions make us stronger. With regard to the pandemic, frontline workers have displayed heroic efforts to maintain the health of Canadians. By painting portraits of Black frontline workers, Faces of Our Frontline: Celebrating Canadian Black Frontline Workers hopes to use art to foster an appreciation for Canada’s Black community by recognizing the many ways that they continue to keep Canada safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thank you for taking the time to see the faces of our frontline - we hope that you enjoyed learning about the people who have been working hard to protect all of us!

Want to help out without buying a portrait? Here's how!

Faces of Our Frontline: Celebrating Canadian Black Frontline Workers has created a fundraiser to raise money for the Black Health Alliance, which works to improve the health of Black communities in Canada, in order to make a more material contribution to racial inequalities and recognize the importance of Black lives in Canada. Our fundraising goal is: $5000. All proceeds made from buying a portrait that we have painted will go towards this fundraiser; however, purchase of a portrait is not necessary to donate. If you would like to, just click the link to make a contribution and help us reach our goal!
